Unknown macro: {scrollbar}

Groups or indicators are always contained in a single section.

The section they belong to is that one where the highest percentage of group area or contained indicator is.

To add a group or indicator it is necessary to follow these steps:

  1. Choose the corresponding button from the Toolbar.
  2. Place the mouse in the position on the map where you wish to place the indicator and create the element with the following possibilities:
    • Double click the button to create a default shape and size element.
    • Drag the mouse while holding the left button pressed (Drag & Drop) to create an element.
  3. Enter a name for the indicator.
  4. Press "Enter" or click outside the indicator to finish the operation.

Each element defined in the strategy map refers to some indicator in the scorecard. In this way, the element is colored according to the group or scorecard indicator at the time of being viewed in the map.

Configuring a group or an indicator

To change the properties of a group or indicator you must follow these steps:

  1. Launch the element's properties window through any of the following options.
    • Clicking on the Map Indicator.
    • Choosing the Edit option from the menu displayed when clicking on the element with the right button of the mouse
  2. Enter a name and group or indicator reference.
  3. Use the "OK" button to confirm changes or the "Cancel" button to discard them.

You may see in the picture that the element "Increasing Sales" in the map is related to the indicator "Sales Evolution" defined in the scorecard, within the group "Increase Sales". The association is established when defining the reference that indicates the path from the root element of the scorecard to the group or indicator you wish to associate. Each new level in the path is separated from the previous one by a slash. "/"

Changing the size of a group or indicator in the map

You may change the size of an indicator by previously selecting it and then modifying it by dragging the mouse from the points indicated for its alteration.
When the mouse pointer is moved over the oval's sensitive points a two-headed arrow is shown. Dragging the mouse (while pressing the left button) in the direction of the arrows modifies the size of the oval.

Moving a group or indicator

To move a group or an indicator it is necessary to select it with the mouse and drag it to its new position, always keeping the left button pressed. Arrows pointing to the indicator accompany it in its movement and continue to refer to it.
