Status Bar
The status bars objective is to inform the user of different messages that may be relevant at the time of analyzing data.
The status bar is specific to each analysis window, in the same way as it happens with the dimensions bar. As a consequence, when viewing more than one window at a time, the messages to the user are shown in each panel.
The status bar is displayed in the lower part of each window. It is divided in five sections, each of them separated by a border.
Sections of the Status Bar
Section 1
It shows the date and time of the cubes last update. This information is also shown through the Properties option in the File menu. It is mouse sensitive. If the right button is pressed on it different available display formats are shown.
Section 2
It shows the active sort criteria.
Section 3
It shows messages to users. The different types of messages we can see in this section are detailed below:
- Security restrictions: Restricted access to certain levels of the dimensions of the cube.
- Scope restrictions: One or more measures are not defined in some levels of the dimensions of the cube.
- NaN forced to zero: Data contain some non-numeric values (NaN) and have been forced to zero.
- Data contain some non-numeric values (NaN)
- Negatives forced to zero: Data contain some negative values and have been forced to zero.
- Absolute Value: All data are negative, and are presented as absolute values.
- Activated compression message: In case the query renders a disperse matrix as a result, and this one has been compressed to maximize memory use.
- Memory overflow at the server: The maximum number of values the server supports as result of a query has been exceeded.
- Memory overflow at the client: The maximum number of values the client supports as result of a query has been exceeded.
If the user needs to be given more than one message, they will be queued in a list.
Section 4
It shows indications over the rules defined for the active view. A guide to interpret the symbols that may appear in this section is shown below: For more information refer to the Rules Section
|
Rule without exceptions: all the values in the query comply with the rule defined. |
|
Rule with exceptions: it indicates there are values that do not comply with the defined rule. If we click on the icon, the values that do not follow the rule according to the style determined when the rule was defined are highlighted. Please note in the picture shown as an example that the icon changes to indicate we are highlighting those values. Clicking on the icon again, toggles the situation back to normal. |
|
Rule out of scope: It indicates that the defined rule is not valid in the current context, that is, in the combination of dimensions and measures being analyzed. This situation occurs when we drill the view leaving aside dimensions intervening in the definition of the rule. |
Section 5
It shows the following warning symbol about expressions added by the user, warning him about possible errors in the expression defined.
For instance:
- Reference is made to non-existent elements of a dimension.
- A division by zero has occurred while evaluating the expression.
