Adding a Measure

Use the Add Measure or Insert Measure command to add a measure.

To add a measure:

  1. Select the Measures branch in the Design tree.
  2. Add a new Measure:
    • To add a new measure at the end of the list, choose the Add Measure command.
      The measure is added and the Properties pane for the measure displays.
    • To insert a new measure right after another existing measure, select the measure and choose the Insert Measure command.
      The measure is added and the Properties pane for the measure displays.
  3. If the measure is basic, complete the fields on the Description, General, Aggregation and Scope tabs of the property pane.
  4. If the measure is derived complete the fields on the Description and General tabs of the property pane.
  5. To apply formatting to the measure, choose the Measure Format button.
    The Measure Format dialog box displays.
  6. Complete the fields.
