This section describes how to create a new report step by step, using a simple example with data from the Wines cube distributed with the product.

Creating a new Report

Reports can be created in two different ways.

  • Starting from a blank page
  • Using a predesigned report template. In this case,  the necessary steps to put the report together conforming to a pre established design are suggested .

For the purposes of this tutorial, a blank page is used.

  1. Choose New Report in the File Menu
  2. Enter my_report.rptdesign as the name of the report
  3. Select Blank Report y finally, press Finish

Thus, the new report is available to start placing elements in it.
