Opening a Cube Model

Use the Open command to open an existing model.

  1. Choose "Open" from the "File" menu. The Open Cube Model dialog appears.
  2. If the model that you wish to open is stored locally, choose the correct folder and open the .mdl file.
  3. If the model that you wish to open is stored remotely in the O3 Server, choose Remote Files and then select the correct .mdl file.

Closing a Cube Model

To close a model in the design tree:

  1. Select the root of the tree corresponding to the model you want to close
  2. Choose the "Close" option from the "File" menu or from the toolbar.
    If the model has been modified you will be prompted to save the changes.

Creating a New Cube Model

Use the New Model command to create a new cube model.

  1. Choose the "New Model" option from the "File" menu or toolbar.
    An empty model definition is added to the Design Tree.
  2. Complete the Name and Description tab in the Properties pane for the model.

    Note

    Changes made in the Property pane apply when you leave the pane or perform another operation in O3 Designer.

Saving a Cube Model

Use the Save or Save As command to save a cube model.
To save a cube model:

  1. Choose the File | Save command. The Save Cube Schema dialog box displays.

OR
Choose the File | Save As command. The Save Cube Schema dialog box displays.

  1. Enter a model name.

OR
Choose a model name from the list. OR
Choose a directory and file.

  1. Choose the Save button. If the cube model exists, the following prompt displays:

{Path/Filename} This file already exists. Replace existing file?
Choose the Yes button to overwrite the existing cube model. The cube model saves and you return to the desktop.
OR
Choose No to return to the Save Cube Schema dialog box. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
