O3 Browser  allows users to customize the document generated from the printing or to export it to a file. All settings apply to the Analysis Pane which remains active at the time they are being executed and are specific to each case.
The following sections from the document can be set.

  • Page header
  • Document body, containing the graph or table in the analysis pane, and other context information.
  • Document footer.

Steps to follow to set up the page:

  1. From the "File" menu, select "Page Setup" and modify the desired information (see details below). After making all the changes, you may:
    1. Confirm modifications clicking on the "Apply" button to stay in the "Page Format" window and continue customizing the page.
    2. Undo all setup configurations clicking on the "Cancel" button. As a result of the cancellation, the page setup default values are established and the user can continue working on the Browser Desktop.
    3. Confirm changes by clicking on the "OK" button. This has the same effect as the "Apply" button, except for the fact that the Page Format window is closed and the Browser window is viewed.

The Page Format window displays different tabs for different configurations:

  • General
  • Header and Footer
  • Main Component

Options in the "General" tab

Options in the "Header and Footer" Tab

O3 Browser lets you modify the default definition of the contents of header and footer.
There are two sections, corresponding to header and footer respectively. Each of them is divided in 9 cells, as you can see in the following picture.
The information to include in each one of these cells can combine any user-defined text with predefined information available in the list that drops down from the "View components" combo. The data that can be selected to be printed on the header or footer are described in the following table:

Cube Name

When dealing with local cubes, the name is taken from the filename without the path and extension. For instance, if the cube's URL is "file:/C:/Cubes/Sales.cube", the cube name will be "sales". When dealing with server cubes, the name coincides with the name of the cube.

Cube Date

Last date the cube was updated.

Cube Time

Last time the cube was updated.

Cube URL

File where the cube containing the analysis pane currently viewed is saved.
Example: "file:/C:/Cubes/Sales.cube".

Measure

Cube's measure currently viewed in the analysis pane

Title

Title displayed in the analysis pane.

Page Column Number (star)

It indicates the position of the page with reference to the columns

Page Row Number

It indicates the position of the page with reference to the rows.

When printing a larger table than a page can hold, it is useful to number the pages with the following predefined options: page column number, and page row number. After printing, you should first sort the pages by row and then by column.
To add predefined text in the header or footer, follow these steps:

  1. Place the cursor in the cell where you wish to include the information
  2. Add the desired information selecting any of the available options:
    1. Choose an element from the "View Components" associated list. The selected element is added in the cell. For instance, if we choose the cube's name, the element %CubeName% will be copied in the indicated cell.  Please note that these elements are shown between percentage symbols in the window, to indicate they will be substituted by the corresponding values at the time of printing
    2. Choose any of the icons in this tab's Toolbar. The available options are

      Page Number

      Number of Pages

      Current Date

      Current Time

It is also possible to customize the font type and size of the text in the header and footer.   To do so, the cursor must be placed on the cell you wish to customize and by selecting the icon in this tab's toolbar, the dialogue box to define font, style size and color is displayed.

      Choose color and font.

Options of the "Main Component" tab

The print area of the document's main body is that between the header and footer.
It is possible to customize the printing of the document's main body, using the "Main  Component" tab in the Page Setup Window. The available customizing options for the main component are described below.
"Graph" tab: This tab is only enabled when the analysis pane contains any kind of graph. It lets users add a border to the chart so as to "frame" that image.
