Defining Indicators

Unknown macro: {scrollbar}

Indicators are those elements in the hierarchy to which the values that generate the calculation of statuses are associated. The values of indicators come from data sources, in particular from cubes built with Ideasoft O3, but they can also be entered manually.

Two calculation methods interact to determine the color of indicators.

One of them calculates the status of each breakdown element of the indicator, whereas the other one defines the aggregation method to infer the status of the indicator based on the statuses of each of its elements.

When an indicator is defined, the Concept is also defined, and sometimes the associated Filter.

Adding a new indicator to the scorecard

Indicators can be added below groups. There are no limitations as to the number of indicators the scorecard can contain, or to the level of hierarchy in which they are defined. They always correspond to the lowest levels in the tree, that is, indicators cannot contain groups or other indicators.

To add an indicator, take the following steps:

  1. Select the group in the hierarchy to which the new indicator is to be added, and display the menu with the right button of the mouse.
  2. Choose the indicator option from the menu entry so that the new indicator is added.
  3. Select the indicator and define its properties.

Deleting Indicators

When deleting an indicator, all datasources defined for that indicator are also eliminated.

To delete an indicator:

  1. Select the indicator to delete
  2. Right-click the indicator and choose Delete.

Moving indicators within a hierarchy

It is possible to move indicators within a hierarchy by means of the mouse, using the Drag & Drop operation.

This operation can be performed by dragging the indicator from the original group to the destination

When moving an element all the subordinate elements in the hierarchy are moved as well.

Using the clipboard to copy and paste indicators

Any element in the indicators definition tree but the root element can be copied to the clipboard, so that it will be later on pasted from the clipboard to a new destination.

To copy an element to the clipboard you must choose the Copy option from the right-click drop-down menu, once the element you wish to copy has been selected.

To paste an element from the clipboard you must choose the Paste option from the right-click drop-down menu on the element below the one you wish to paste the clipboard's contents.

You may also copy an element. In order to do so, hold the CTRL key down while the element is dragged with the mouse to the destination location.
