O3 Designer Menu Bar

The Menu Bar contains all the different functions and operations of the O3 Designer

The following menu options are available:

Depending on the currently selected element in the Design Tree, the File menu displays different options.

Command	Description
New Model	Creates a new model definition
New Public Dimensions Model	Creates a new model with public dimensions
Open	Opens an existing cube model definition
Close	Closes the currently active model
Save	Saves the current model definition
Save As	Saves the current cube model definition using another name
Generate Cube	Generates a cube based on the current model definition by executing the O3 Builder. This includes verification
Verify Model	Verifies the correctitude of the current model
Open Browser	Opens the O3 Browser with the last built cube
Recent Files list	Shows the list of the recently opened files
Exit	Exits O3 Designer

The following commands are shown depending on the currently selected element in the design tree.

Command	Description
Add dimension	Adds a dimension to the current cube model
Insert Dimension	Inserts a dimension to the current cube model below the selected dimension
Add Reference Dimension	Adds a reference to a dimension defined elsewere in a public dimensions model
Insert Reference Dimension	Inserts a reference to a dimension defined elsewhere right after the currently selected dimension
Add Level	Adds a level to the selected dimension
Insert Level	Inserts a level to a dimension below the selected level
Add Date	Adds a new date dimension to the current cube model
Add Relative Date	Adds a new relative date to the selected date dimension
Insert Date	Inserts a new date dimension to the current cube model below the selected dimension

Command	Description
Add Measure	Adds a new measure to the current cube model
Insert Measure	Inserts a new measure to the current cube model below the selected measure

Command	Description
Add File	Adds a new text data source to the current model
Insert File	Inserts a new text data source to the current model below the selected text data source

Command	Description
Add Connection	Adds a new database (SQL) connection to the current model
Insert Connection	Inserts a new database (SQL) connection to the current model below the selected connection
Add Query	Adds a new SQL query to the selected connection
Insert Query	Inserts a new SQL query below the selected query or guard
Add Guard	Adds a new guard to the selected connection
Insert Guard	Inserts a new guard below the selected guard or query

Command	Description
Add XML	Adds a new XML data source
Insert XML	Inserts a new XML data source right after the currently selected file

Command	Description
Add WebService	Adds a new Web service data source
Add WebService	Inserts a new Web service data source right after the currently selected web service

Command	Description
Remove	Removes the currently selected element of the Design Tree. If the element selected is the root of the tree the cube model is closed
Up	Moves the currently selected element in the Design Tree up one level
Down	Moves the currently selected element in the Design Tree down one level

Command	Description
Connect Options	Opens the connection settings window to indicate how to connect to the *O3 Server*

Command	Description
Metal	Selects the Metal look & feel for the user interface
Motif	Selects the Motif look & feel for the user interface
Windows	Selects the a Windows look & feel for the user interface
Liquid	Selects the a Liquid look & feel for the user interface
GTK	Selects the GTK look & feel for the user interface. Available only for certain platforms such as IBM and Linux

Help	Displays the help on line
License Manager	Opens the license manager windows where new licences can be installed and activated
About O3	Displays version information about O3
