The use of synchronized windows lets the user carry out the same analysis simultaneously in two or more windows. The only difference these windows may have is the type of graph chosen to view data.

The other elements determining the position with reference to axes and levels of hierarchy, filters and analyzed measures are kept synchronized as the user performs different queries. The configurations that state the order of elements, the hidden elements, display of totals, etc., are also synchronized with the original view.

Drilling operations in any of the synchronized windows affect the other views.

To open a synchronized window, just select the "New Synchronized Window" option in the "Windows" menu.

The same considerations made in the previous section apply to synchronized windows

Creating a bookmark for a view

Ideasoft O3 contains a specific module to facilitate user access to different cubes or views.
O3 Organizer lets you classify the different cubes or views according to user-defined criteria, grouping all the related information in different folders and subfolders.
To add new entries to this organization, the user must define bookmarks for cubes or views, which they can do from O3 Organizer or O3 Browser.
This section deals with the creation of bookmarks from O3 Browser. It is important to bear in mind that a bookmark is associated to a view, so that when a new bookmark is defined, the user will also be defining a new view.
To define a bookmark for a cube or view, follow these steps:

  1. Select the "New Bookmark" option in the "Tools" menu. The corresponding O3 Organizer dialogue box appears.
  2. Enter the name of the new bookmark. This name will be used to access the cube from O3 Organizer
  3. Enter the name to save the associated view to the bookmark.
  4. Press the "OK" button.
  5. Exit O3 Organizer, to go back to the O3 Browser desktop.
